A Shabby Chic Nursery For Maxwell Drew!

Jessica Simpson had 'cozy and cute' in her mind when it came to designing her baby's nursery, says Rachel Ashwell of Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Couture.

Ashwell was hired by Jessica and her fiance, Eric Johnson to design their daughter's 'Bohemian' nursery - and the couple loved their designer's ideas so much that they asked her to design the rest of their home as well.

For Maxwell Drew's nursery, Ashwell  hung vintage butterfly wallpaper that “definitely set the tone,” and filled the room with luxe furniture from her boutiques. She scoured flea markets to find vintage pieces that she converted into shelving units — and even a custom changing table, which she made by screwing a changing table top to a dresser.

Ashwell says that Simpson - who gushed about her baby daughter on twitter Tuesday - didn't want an 'over-the-top frilly' baby nursery.

“The words she used were ‘gypsy’ and ‘bohemian,’ so we brought in lavenders and mauves with a bit of pink and aqua,”  the designer tells People.
