Jessica Alba managed to step away from mommy duty for a little while this week to tend to her business duties. Alba - who was recently named one of the top 100 most creative people in business in 2012 by Fast Company - looked amazing in a red dress coupled with a short leather jacket and black pointed toe heels as she headed to a business meeting in Beverly Hills, Ca. on Friday (May 18.)
The busy mom of two daughters, Haven , 9-months old and Honor Marie, 3, was recognized for co-founding The Honest Company, a line of eco-friendly baby and household products.
In a new interview for the June issue of Marie Claire magazine, Alba reveals that she was uncomfortable with the public's perception of her after starring in the show, Dark Angels, when she was 19.
"I had a show [Dark Angel] that premiered when I was 19. And right away, everyone formed a strong opinion about me because of the way I was marketed," she says. I was supposed to be sexy, this tough action girl. That's what people expected... I felt like I was being objectified, and it made me uncomfortable. I wanted to be chic and elegant!"
Jessica tells the magazine she now feels more confident about her looks and sense of style.
"Now that I'm older, I've learned how to own it," she says. "But I'm still not very overt."
"There are some women who dress for men. I dress for myself. It took me some time to get here. Being a mom and feeling grown-up have helped. Now if I'm going to wear something short, it has to have a high neck or a little sci-fi toughness to it, an edge." says Alba.
The actress will soon be seen in the Sin City sequel, A Dame to Kill For, along with actor Mickey Rourke. The 3D movie is slated to start filming this October in Austin, Texas.
