It is back-to-school time at the Ripa-Consuelo household, and dad Mark is nervous....about the inevitable math homework his kids will be bringing home!
“Unfortunately Michael surpassed my math knowledge last year,” the actor, 40, told Ok!Magazine at a Pampers Little Miracle Missions event in NYC recently. “I’m still good with the Joaquin. I’m good at fractions. Whenever you start getting into algebra and a little past algebra, that’s where you’re getting past my level.”
Consuelos and his wife, Live With Regis and Kelly host, Kelly Ripa, are parents to three children- Michael, 14,Lola, 10, and Joaquin, 8. As their kids get older, Mark admits that getting alone time with his wife is getting easier to come by-
“I think it’s getting easier now that they’re getting older,” he says. “There’s still a responsibility, but we sneak off for a date night here and there with dinner – with just us or some friends. They’re so busy now with other activities that sometimes we’re not invited to, our kids, so we have some free time all of a sudden.”
Free time for the busy couple may be a little more elusive though come next month when the new E! reality show, Dirty Soap, premieres. The series is being produced by Ripa and Consuelos, and will focus on the soap opera lives of daytime TV stars.
Ripa and Consuelos say they took on this project because daytime TV has a very special place in their hearts. The couple fell in love as costars on All My Children in 1995, and eloped in 1996.
"Having met on the soaps we know all too well how much work and dedication it takes," say the couple.
A few of the stars slated to participate in the E! show are One Life To Live’s real life couple John-Paul Lavoisier and Farah Fath who play Rex and (the late) Gigi .
Days Of Our Lives’ Galen Gering (Rafe) and Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) and General Hospital’s Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Kirsten Storms (Maxie) will also reportedly take part.
