Actress Nia Long, 40, spoke with Us Weekly about her 'surprise' pregnancy while attending the B.E.T awards Sunday in Los Angeles.
"I was supposed to go to Ghana to do a film and that's when I found out I was pregnant," Long told reporters. "I had a doctor's appointment to get the yellow fever shot and they were like, 'Miss Long, we can't give you a shot.'"
Once doctors informed Long that she was expecting, "I almost fainted. It was the best moment and the sweetest surprise ever!"
The actress says that her first trimester was not easy, but now at 5 months along, she is feeling great:
"I was so horribly sick for four and a half months, now I have energy, besides a little heartburn here and there, and I'm doing excellent. The baby is huge!
This will be the actress' first child with professional basketball player Ime Udoka, 33; she has a 10-year-old son, Massai Jr., with ex-boyfriend Massai Z. Dorsey.
